Pianist Lywon,
born in Seoul in 1990, graduated with distinction from Yewon School and Seoul Arts High School, where she was honored with the Achievement Award under the guidance of renowned pianists Tong-il Han and Professor Kyungsook Lee. She continued her education at Yonsei University in Seoul, consistently ranking at the top of the piano department and receiving multiple scholarships. Lywon furthered her studies at the Universität der Künste Berlin (UDK) in Germany, under the mentorship of Professor Pascal Devoyon, a prizewinner of the Tchaikovsky and Leeds International Competitions. She then pursued advanced studies at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg in Austria, where she completed both her Master's degree and the highest performance degree equivalent to a doctoral degree in Europe, under the guidance of Professor Pietro De Maria, a laureate of the Geza-Anda International Competition and the Tchaikovsky International Competition.
Subsequently, under the tutelage of Professor Soyeon Kate Lee, Lywon earned her Artist Diploma at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, where she received full scholarships and additional special awards. She was also admitted to doctoral studies with a full scholarship.
Lywon’s accomplishments include being selected as a scholarship recipient through the CLAVARTE Swiss International Scholarship Foundation audition. She has won numerous prestigious prizes, including 1st place and a Special Prize at the Città di San Donà di Piave International Competition in Italy, 1st place at the London International Competition, 1st place at the Birmingham International Competition, 1st place at the Las Conchillas International Competition in Chile, and an honorable mention at the San Francisco Artcial International Competition.
She has performed on international stages across Europe and the U.S. and is currently dedicated to both performing and teaching in the U.S. In addition to her performance career, Lywon is deeply committed to guiding her students to success in international competitions, including their debuts at Carnegie Hall in New York. For her outstanding contributions to coaching students in international competitions, she has been honored multiple times with Certificates of Recognition and Accompaniment Awards.
